WHAT IS THE 'CERAMIC HAND AND FOOTPRINTS' INITIATIVE AND HOW DO YOUR DONATIONS HELP?
"There is no foot too small, that it cannot leave an imprint in this world"
Parents, Eleanor Curran and Shane Ó Foghlú's two sons Aidan and Donnacha were born alive at 23 weeks in Autumn 2015. They looked so perfect but came into this world too early. To remember their sons and to help other parents in a similar situation, they decided to help the Rotunda to fund the Ceramic Hand and Foot Prints Initiative. You can read full details of the background to the initiative in THE IRISH TIMES which recently featured an article on it.
So far, Eleanor and Shane have raised €30,000 in support of this initiative which will enable the Rotunda Hospital to present every bereaved parent with a ceramic framed print of their baby’s hand and foot prints. This precious gift will not only help with their immediate pain and suffering but will also comfort them for a lifetime and greatly influence their grieving process.
